According to Billboard.com N Roses' decade plus in-the-making album Chinese Democracy has finally got a release date. Whistle-blowers told the publication that Axl and co. will be releasing the album, the reformed band's first studio album since 1991's Use Your Illusion, exclusively at Best Buy on Sunday, November 23rd. INstead of the usual Tuesday release, Chinese Democracy's release will run with Best Buy's sales week, which goes Sunday to Saturday.

So what does that mean? It means Dr. Pepper is f'ed! Earlier this year the soft drink company launched a marketing campaign that said it would give everyone in the US a free Dr. Pepper if Chinese Democracy came out by the year's end. But the people at DP aren't sweating it too much just yet. "We're waiting to hear about 'Chinese Democracy' just like all the other GNR fans," the VP of marketing at DP told Billboard when approached about the rumored release date for the album.  "But if the rumors are true, we're putting the Dr Pepper on ice."

If a free Dr. Pepper and the actual physical release of Chinese Democracy don't suffice GNR's 1987 debut Appetite for Destruction goes vinyl on October 28th thanks to Interscope.

Personally, I think Chinese Democracy needs a new title at this point. Any ideas?

I thought this leaked 6 months ago on the internet? I even had it, thought it was rubbish and properly disposed of it. Was that not the real album, was I taken for another Death Cab For Cutie ride?

To tell you the truth, I have no interest in this album outside of a morbid sense of curiosity. I do like Dr. Pepper though!

I agree, a new album title would be nice, but really, I just want it out so they can break up, put the real band back together, and start working on Use Your Illusion III.

I'm only about 15 years past caring about this...he's got balls even calling the project Guns and Roses! I doubt many will buy into it...hopefully.

A happy ending for the idiot documentary filmmakers behind Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. (Oh, the irony!) The film, which takes a look at the teachers and scientists who believe intelligent design is an alternative to Darwin's theory of evolution, used a 15 second clip of John Lennon's "Imagine" without the "OK" from neither the Lennon camp (i.e. Yoko Ono) or label (EMI.) Ono and EMI didn't like it one bit and filed a lawsuit, but that lawsuit was dropped after unsuccessful attempts in federal court. Teh attorney's for the filmmakers claimed the music had been covered by fair use

Because the ruling came late, the DVD of the film will not feature the music.
