Amy Winehouse who? Feist is the new "IT" girl. (Was it the iPod commercial?)
Feist is the winner of the Seventh Annual Shortlist Music Prize for her 2007 album The Reminder. If you're a Feist fan, you probably got to swooning over the Canadian singer-songwriter way back when 2004's Let It Die broke through. But now in 2008 the swooning is being done by the panel of the Shortlist Music Prize - recording artists Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol) and Ronnie Vannucci (the Killers), journalist Rev. Moose (CMJ), radio DJ Chris Douridas (KCRW) and the hosts of Hunnypot Internet Radio.
Feist is definitely on her way to winning over everyone, not just Kanye West and the guy from Snow Patrol. Not only is she performing at the countdown to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics on February 12th, Feist is also performing at the Grammys this weekend where she is nominated for Best New Artist, up against Ledisi, Paramore, Taylor Swift and the rehabing Winehouse.
Last week we announced that Feist would be heading out on tour of Europe and Australia, but now we're catching wind of U.S. dates in April. The U.S. tour kicks off on April 10th in Detroit.
