Mogger MrFrost did a fantabulous job of keeping MOG up-to-date on all the Glastonbury coverage over the weekend - posting about the epic performances from Amy Winehouse (she punched someone in the audience during "Rehab") and Jay-Z (who shamelessly covered Oasis, the band that dissed his headlining spot on the Glasto bill.) Since Glastonbury is one of the biggest festival's in the whole wide world, I figured I would post some of the other epic performances because there were ... MORE
Remember the song 'Rhythm Is A Dancer' by Snap back in 1992?
Well it's being used in the latest ad for Drench Spring Water. See Brains from Thunderbirds strut his stuff in a way I've never seen him do it before! I think he looks scarily like the lead singer from Hot Chip, Alexis Taylor.
Apparently PuppetCraft created and operated a Brains puppet for the filming with CGI used in post production. It's quite impressive and certainly got me watching. Not sure even John Malko... MORE
My review of Hot Chip's album Made In The Dark is done and now up at Blogcritics Magazine.
Here's the intro:
After gaining acclaim with The Warning, Hot Chip returns with their third release Made In The Dark. Filled with a great mix of songs, it's a worthy follow-up to their breakthrough album.Enjoy one of my favorite tracks from this album.... MORE
Hot Chip and Free Blood made for dance party crazy at the Crystal Ballroom this last week. Free Blood was definitely interesting but so loud tonsils were vibrating and the super loudness marred the ability to truly listen to the music. Some of the songs were great and when possible I will give it a further listen.
Hot Chip was fantastic. The intense way that the entire band threw themselves into their music was brilliant! Sheer fun! They did an incredible job blendin... MORE
Hot Chip dropped a new video this week, for "One Pure Thought" off their Made in the Dark LP:

Hot Chip wants you arrested. Their new video for "Arrest Yourself" is a fabulous blend of new and old techtronics, meshing Kraftwerk visuals with Matrix themes. Check it out:
Hi hi hi - I'm back on line...
Just a contrasting track for you... I love the early 80s opening sound (reminds me of cheesy Americana bands from that period), and love the way it swings into ragga.. These guys are sickeningly talented. The varying styles mesh together really well, I think. And oh, those guitars......... MORE
This track bangs like a freakin' shed door in the wind; I really really dig the middle eastern influence in it... It's been my party dance track of the weekend. Brilliant. Contrasting track to follow but this LP is a gorgeous journey.. (only managed to pick it up on Friday but it's been on my player non stop)...
I also feel that the diversity and depth of Hot Chip is really shown in this LP; it's almost certainly their best to date moving them up another notch in musical... MORE
MP3 bloggers the world over believe Hot Chip to be pretty much unfuckwitable.
The UK dance act have never left the web’s collective unconscious since the release of The Warning in 2006. They enhanced their rep with energetic live shows, a mix CD for the DJ Kicks series, and remix work for such luminaries as Queens of the Stone Age and Matthew Dear.
Yet in the interest of fairness and balance, and because your reviewer is a contrary bastard, I've decided to fuck wi... MORE
What are you doing Guys!?
Why in the world would you release the best song from the new album as a single? Why-why-why!? That only leave people in pain and misery... like me at the moment!
I would release the next best song as a single and then put the best song somewhere in the middle of the album... then the whole album would be as a delicious box filled with divine macroncookies from salon de thé - Laduree, in Paris... oooh la la, tries bien!
The first cookie ta... MORE
