I really don't remember when, where, or how TV on the Radio crept into my life. In fact, I don't even remember buying the album at all. The only proof I have of this fact is that I'm currently staring at its empty jewel case, as the CD spins in my stereo system for the umpteenth time.
And, fittingly, I could not give less of a damn.

The five piece indie rock group from New York City TV On The Radio has announced a Fall tour which will span most of North America and include a spot at the Treasure Island festival in San Francisco on September 20. TVOTR released an EP entitled Live at Amoeba Music featured live tracks recorded during an in-store performance at Los Angeles music store at Amoeba Music on September 22, 2006. Actually I can't say this track qualifies as 'fonkay' but certainly in relation to the rest of the release it is pretty funky. As a result of hours in the car and on the road of late, I've been going through full albums instead of just mixes and I finally heard this track on Return to Cookie Mountain. I really like this album, all sorts of great production and arrangements and the lead singer gets into all sorts of voices, including early Ozzie-esque moments. Anyway thi... MORE

I finally got around to getting an album by TV On The Radio. Wow.
After listening to this song, I hit repeat, repeatedly. I enjoyed this video too...
I could go on about how I feel about them so far, but Emit pretty much summed up my feelings and reactions in a previous post. He's good like that.

Back in the summer of 2001 a little movie hit the theaters called Jump Tomorrow . It was about a shy guy who is about to be married off in an arranged marriage, except he doesn't love his soon to be wife he loves another girl from his office, and she doesn't know it. Last week, hipsters, economists, artists, humanists alike gathered, slurped sweet concoctions, and raved at SFOTE's fundraiser at New York's sleek Tribeca Grand Hotel. Though I am always skeptical of these type of charity events held in luxury venues (Whatever happened to bake sales? TV on the Radio are up for a Best Video Woodie Award from MTVU on November 15th. They are competing against Justice, Say Anything, RJD2, and Motion City Soundtrack. You can watch each of the videos that are up for the award and vote on the MTVU page. The award ceremony takes place November 15th at 8pm. Here is the video for TV on the Radio's "Province":

Awesome band. I understand not everyone "gets" them, but if you haven't taken a listen, you should. You might just be amazed or at least a smidge smitten.GO! GO! GO! see this band live if you have the chance.
This video is pretty cool. Live "Young Liars". Takes a minute to get movin' but it's of fairly decent quality. Bit o' backstage shooting of "The Wrong Way" at the end too.
