No lie. Tom Waits just released this important press conference in what appears to be designed as a video for youtube release, spread virally through the tentacles of the interweb....

Tom Waits was awarded the key to the city of El Paso, Texas. Although the key was bestowed to the legendary bluesman man in a unceremonious way Waits was visibly moved, reports NME. He was not expecting the honor when a uniformed officer walked on-stage at El Paso's Plaza Theatre, where he was performing. Somewhere…there’s a couple who started the growing tradition of assembling, burning and distributing mix CDs as keepsakes at weddings. So much for matchbooks as marriage mementos. You can never tell if Tom waits is drunk or not. During his latest press conference announcing a summer tour behind his new album Glitter And Doom, we're pretty sure he wasn't. Thank you, NPR All Songs Considered. I spent Saturday night thoroughly enjoying their latest concert offering: Tom Waits. It's downright awesome. Calling the tour "Glitter and Doom", Waits puts on a  fantastic show from Atlanta's Fox Theater (on July 5) for nearly two-and-a-half hours. The band is right up to Waits' usual standards. It's a must hear for Waits fans. This guy loses nothing with age. Download it through iTunes or listen at the page. It's a keeper. Linky go... MORE
