The Thermals just got added to my "Bands I Know Nothing About But Need To" list. Quite the contrast to the Mew I'm checkin' on Dale's page ;o) Still can't put my finger on why I am liking this Mew stuff...

We have a Zune display at work, with one active player and auxilliary speakers, and I live to cue up "Pillar of Salt" (especially on Monday morning before the store is open). Microsoft and indie rock: I think this is exactly what Thomas Frank meant when he compiled the cogent 1997 consumerist indictment _Commodify Your Dissent_ . Still, it's difficult to resist those rocking chords in the early morning. And the band seem like good people.

Mmmm, Mew and Thermals some of the tastier entrees from the largely bland 2006 menu....

they've got their first headlining tour for this album coming up... they absolutely own live and i can't wait to see them play a full set!

Yep, I dig it. You pretty much can't go wrong with a kickass female bassist though. :)
