Yesterday(March 25) Jack White side group The Raconteurs released their sophomore album Consolers Of The Lonely(Warner Bros.). A video for the first single from the album, "Salute Your Solution" was released on the same day.
This album is unique in that the band has done no promotion previous to the album's release, and its existence was only confirmed a week before its release.
Quite simply I think it rocks.
But you don't have to take my word for it

Thanks for posting this! I didn't know they had new material.
I like it. I have their first album, and while I still favor Jack White's work in the White Stripes, the band does rock. No doubt. Will definitely be giving them another listen.

I like this. A bit less moody/ more rocking than the first outing. The tandem vocals work great. But, that being said (and mind you, this is on first listen) they need be careful of becoming "The Jack White Band" - he's so freakin' overpowering!

Why don't they just add Meg to the Raconteurs? Although, I do prefer The White Stripes far far more than The Raconteurs. The song does RAWK!

You know I was gonna say something about how it wasn't possible to sellout any more since hardly anyone buys anything anymore, but then the web sheriff came in (is his fee built into the price of a cd?..does his fee come out of the artist royalty?) and deconvinced me..the track may very well rawk, but GarageRock has a mighty good point, and he was droppin' science before the cops even showed up.

I miss reading rainbow. Also, I miss The Raconteurs. I can't believe I haven't listened to them in as long as it has been (which is really only about a week or two, but still...) I am a bigger fan of The White Stripes, but this is nice. I'm very excited for the release!
