this was the gift i gave my mother for xmas two years ago, just found the photos on an old blog... i wanted to take pics of the final product but i had no camera batteries and needed to wrap the whole thing due to time constraints. because of that, scanning wasnt an option either. so instead hit the 'print screen' key while i was in the cd cover editor and that is why the quality of these images is not so hot. in fact, it kind of sucks. but you get the general idea. you just must believe me that they look better in print.

 

it was fun to put these together. i chose all the songs to her tastes, as far as i know. some of the songs are put on with the idea that she'd be listening to these mainly while driving, and then there are some like "we are family" by the pointer sisters and "we're a happy family" by the ramones that got added because she's my momma. i really enjoyed finding just the right picture for the cover art, and spent hours at http://www.dafont.com picking fonts. i printed the pages on linen paper, chopped to size and mounted them on black cardstock cd sleeves i also made. then i put them all in a 12-cd holder from Target and that was the whole package. she really dug it. presents that cost more time than money are where it is at.
