Not sure why, but since last week, I continue to have the following lyrics from My Sister by Juliana Hatfield boucing around in my head:
She's the one who would have taken me
To my first all-ages show.
It was the Violent Femmes and the Del Fuegos,
Before they had a record out. Before they went gold,
And started to grow.
Maybe I need to listen to My Sister on a continous loop until I purge it from my immediate consciousness. Think that'll work?
Hmmm. . .
Guilty Pleasures - the songs you unabashedly belt out while alone in the car, the shower, when doing a little light housekeeping, yet won't admit to having on your playlist. It's time to come clean, folks. Okay, I'll start. My top 10 Guilty Pleasures are:
1. Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
2. I Want You To Want Me - Cheap Trick
3. Don't Stop Believin' - Journey (really, anything by Journey, or Steve Perry solo, for that matter)
4. Build Me Up Buttercup - The Foundations
5. Like A Prayer - Madonna
6. Paradise By The Dashboard Light - Meatloaf
7. Freedom - George Michael
8. Heat of the Moment - Asia
9. The Winner Takes It All - ABBA
10. Every Rose Has Its Thorn - Poison
Who's next?

Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow - Fleetwood Mac
Play That Funk Music - Wild Cherry
Wide Open Space - Dixie Chicks
and from Thanksgiving to mid-December, just 'bout any holiday song I hear. After mid-Dec. I start to mumble along in a trance.

i just listened to alive version of the track on hypemachine. i'm not sure if a continuous loop will help. i think cold turkey with the repetition of a completely style of song would help.
