Let's not forget Mr. Wayne Kramer of MC5 fame. I've never heard of his Air Raid, but it definitely sounds promising.
So I'm in the midst of a project at work that has me digging through Minneapolis newsweekly archives from the 80's. I've been coming across some pretty incredible concert and club ads. I'll be posting them here. They are so, so good. Here's a small start, from City Pages in 1982:

Jeff, why don't you pretend it's 1982 right now and pick one that looks good from City paper and just go? It's always happening and we're always missing it, except when we don't.
Damn, I was in college in 1982, may have been in love for the first time, too, now that I think of it.
