MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Album:

It's safe to say after all these years that R.E.M.'s best selling song is their greatest, I think.  As someone who was there almost at the beginning, I feel qualified to say that Losing My Religion will stand the test of time as one of the Greatest. Pop. Songs. Ever.

Tori recorded an unbelievable version of it for a POS movie called Higher Learning around the time Under The Pink was recorded. The song leaves the entire creative (if I can use that word) effort of that film in the dust and brings Michael Stipe's lyrics somewhere else. Which confirms that it is one of the Greatest. Pop. Songs. Ever.

I recommend closing your eyes to the Velveeta fan vid. Below it is Tori expaining her experience with the film, and performing the song, live.

Tori Amos does cover the way they should be done. Her version of Smells Like Teen Spirit is I think one of the most brilliant. covers. ever.

I always thought Tori's cover of "Teen Spirit" was the best attempt.

Thanks for this, M
