My search for the middle continues. I must admit, the middle is a confusing land of cheap thrills, tight purple jeans, and large eyewear; but I'm wading through the muck and am making some headway. .....I feel like it.....Beulah was an excellent band from here in the Bay Area... originally part of the Elephant 6 collective... They were a first-rate band live and this is my favorite song by them... (But if you're only going to get one album, make it "The Coast Is Never Clear"... brilliant from top to bottom)... This songs builds and builds and then the magnificent horn pierces through... ahhh.... sheer joy... and it's got a great title: "EMMA BLOWGUN'S LAST STAND"....... MORE

Boy am I one sad chica. I was browsing the web the other day, and I came across a documentary on "one of the greatest bands you've never heard of". BEULAH. To my utter shock, I have discovered that this amazing band has broken up. And they did it only a year or two ago. This makes me very upset for a couple of reasons.1. Okay, so for people that know me well, I would do anything for Death Cab. I have everything of them, and they are my favorite band. I love We Have The Facts And We're Voting Yes, and for those who have heard it, you know how brilliant it is. HOWEVER, I recently got Beulah's older album "When Your Heartstrings Break", and I have to say, sorry Death Cab, I still love you whole-heartedly, but this is the greatest album I have ever bought/listened to. One of my favorite restaurants in the world is St. Orres, located just north of Gualala at the southern tip of Mendecino county.
