We have a new tradition here at our house on Sunday night, Michelle invites her friend Wendy over, we cook dinner and watch True Blood. It's kind of funny when True Blood first started I was the only one who was into the show. I had a dream that featured this song as a soundtrack. I saw her there a former flame whom I hadn't seen in ages. I was waiting for her in front of this club for what seems like hours. I remember it being really cold outside as it was very windy and Chicago like. She finally shows up and she looks so much different, as if I didn't recognize her. Chan Marshall sure loves doing covers. Apparently she did so many during the Jukebox recording sessions that she had enough material left over to put a Double 10" EP called "Dark End Of The Street". The EP will aso be released digitally. The tracklisting for the EP is below with a cover of a Bob Dylan song below.

This Saturday night Cat Power is finally making good on the Stubb's show that was originally scheduled for April, but postponed for whatever reason. The strength of Cat Power's live show is her voice, all dramatic and soulful, performing original songs and refashioning classic material in her own minimalistic style. Cat Power at the Hollywood Bowl. She was amazing, even better than I imagined her on stage. I had always heard the stories of Chan Marshall's disaster's on stage. I could see why and how it could happen just by the way she sings. Marshall uses every inch of her body's energy to sing. And the time she's had those breakdowns, I heard, was do to her being highly intoxicated. But I got the sense of Marshall being more comfortable and empowered on stage. This has to do with her... I'm bringing the event menu back to the top because there's so many things happening this weekend. I gotta keep folks in the know, ya dig? Tonight, this Bassnectar thing at La Zona sounds like it's gonna be pretty sweet.
