Collective Soul is an alternative rock/post-grunge band from Stockbridge, Georgia, USA. First I have to say I find it highly ironic that I spent most of Thursday and Friday bouncing around to "Better Now" by Collective Soul and then spent Saturday and Sunday sick in bed. (Dontcha think?) Yes, I said Collective Soul and yes this is something I would probably never admit to if I was functioning at full capacity. When this song came out I had just had surgery. Collective Soul has always been a band that has never gotten its due. This EP finds them stripped down to what has made so popular: guitars and a lead singer with good pipes. The songs feel much more personal without all the splashy effects from the studio... it reminds you why shouldn't take these guys for granted. You also get a great track that was left off the cd Youth... even though it was the title track....hmmmm.... MORE

My last comment lead me into thinking about this band. I enjoy just sitting back and listening to some Collective Soul from time to time. This song is from one of my favorite movies too, great all around song, good for one of those mellow moods. Here is another video I found while looking for this one, another great song by these guys. They don't even need an audience they just rock out wherever, here is "The World I Know".
