Hip Hop group Dead Prez lead the charge at the "Shut it Down, Stop the Torture" concert yesterday in Washington D.C. The event was hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), Amnesty International (AIUSA), Hip Hop Caucus (HHC) and the Congressional Progressive Caucus. The music in Dave Chappelle's Block Party stuns. Unfortunately, Kanye West, who burns through “Jesus Walks” as a marching band gets down and the crowd chants along, and Talib Kweli, Mos Def and Common with “Get By” (“I got my reasons, just to get by “), don't appear on the soundtrack album. This Dead Prez song is better when you can see the group, but this is a music blog, not a movie blog, so the CD will have to do.

the dead prez show that was supposed to be this coming saturday night at the flying anvil has been cancelled because there were not enough advance ticket sales and there was not enough indicated public interest. this is stupid on the public's part. if there is a band you want to see: 1. email their booking agent and bug them about booking a show at the flying anvil in greensboro, nc next time they go on tour. it has a between 650 and 800... Wow, MOG is all sparkly and new and it comes on a Thursday. Once again I am having to post my addition to hip hop Thursday's early for I have a soccer game tonight. Found out that our goalie will be out so I will be the one between the pipes for our team. Love the look of the new mog, and hope everyone has a great Thursday playing with the new features.
