I'm not even sure when these are from exactly but it's during the long hair, pre-mustache years so I'm guessing the early-to-mid 70s? Either way he's so young! and the songs are beautiful. Also threw in a duet of he and Carly Simon singing Close Your Eyes (pre-divorce). Musical match in heaven. Enjoy the mashup

Following in the footsteps of legendary musicians Paul McCartney and Joni Mitchell, James Taylor will also be releasing an album via Starbucks. The singer-songwriter of "Fire and Rain" fame will be the third artist to release an album on the Hear Music label, a joint venture between the Concord Music Group and Starbucks. Just wondering how many others watched tonight's PBS special "James Taylor Tribute concert"? I caught the last 45 minutes of the show and assume it will be on again soon for those who missed it. The lineup of artists on the tribute were amazing - Bruce Springsteen, India Arie, Jackson Browne, Allison Kraus, David Crosby, Carole King, Sting, Bonnie Raitt and on an on. I've always thought James Taylor was the biggest wuss to ever walk the earth. My oldest sister was a huge JT fan when I was growing up, so I really grew to hate him over the years. And I felt that way until I rented Two Lane Blacktop, the "story of two men drag racing across the USA in a primer grey 55 chevy". ive been in a james taylor mood lately. hes my dad's favorite, and music seems to be the only thing we can relate on, seeing that im not much of a golfer or fisher. so i guess this is a fathers day post. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

Tuesday's show was alright; the venue is beautiful, the tickets were pricey, and James is what he is. We would have preferred seeing him play with his band, and you can find plenty of reviews elsewhere... but,.... Being a woodworking tech geek I was totally enthralled by his drum machine; a big wooden beast with arms and a foot looking thing that pounded out the beat for a couple of songs including a fun version of "Slap Leather" sung through a megaphone, that was a blast.... So...I've been a fan of James Taylor for some time, but after Saturday's concert, my admiration for him has skyrocketed. For starters, anyone who can draw my entire family to the same concert has mad skillz. When my father expressed an interest in going with us, I almost dropped dead from shock.
