Brand new video from Lil Wayne for his smash hit and oft-remixed "A Milli":     Weirdly enough, Ne-Yo dropped a video for his version of "Millie" last week, which seemed kinda weird since Weezy hadn't released his yet.  Now that the official vid for the original tune is out, expect lots more to come for the remixes...

Lil Wayne posted a video last night thanking the fans for the enormous success of his new album Tha Carter III. Before he actually got to the thanking, we're treated to this weird preamble about the book drive at his elementary school. He's not lying when he raps "we are not the same... I am a Martian"

In a day and age where the Billboard charts are a depressing thing to look at, what Weezy has just accomplished is quite a feat. Wow l bought it yesterday. Listened to it last night, fell asleep with it playing on the ipod. Then today at the supermarket (while performing an activity I hate) I gave it a careful listen and I am now ready to give Wayne his props.  The Carter III is the  sh_t. One of the things I love about hip hop music, is that at least once a year everyone and their mothers jump on the same beat and try to rip it. It's competition driven, but without all of the nasty negativity and drama. I thought it would be cool to compile all the A Milli "freestyles" I could find. Businessman Le Marck de Andre wants $123,800 from Wayne (that De Andre says Wayne has owed him for years) for work done on the rappers vehicle. Those damned pirates and their thieving ways.... This picture started circulating around the hip hop blogosphere this morning, which only means one thing. There will be a widespread bootlegging extravaganza in the very near future. As a fan, I'm almost scared of what this album is going to sound like. Wayne's syrup induced surrealist-rap is increasingly hit or miss.
