Ah, the Maryland Deathfest. I refer, of course, to the three-day death metal festival (guaranteed to be as festive as death itself) held each May at Sonar in Baltimore, MD. Madlib must be a very busy man. Recently he dropped a full bonus disc of remixes into the already brimming release of CHAMPION SOUND, the magical double album by the dynamic duo Jaylib that is due on Stones Throw June 19th. In tribute to his friend passed Madlib releases yet another gem and a record that is probably my favorite of the series in Beat Konducta Vol. 5: Dil Cosby Suite. Madlib enlists his labelmate and friend J. Rocc to help him out on this 21 track audiological gem. If are a fan of the late Dilla or Madlib or just simply music you have to get this record. Impressive blend of jazz, hip hop, soul and everything sweet. Check out a track.

I have to wonder when Madlib sleeps. If he eats. If he forgets to go to the toilet. Having just released Yesterday's Universe these days, he goes and paints the beat envelope with red and gold. Why do I feel like he was just fooling around then it was all a matter of hm, so what about the artwork then.

King Of The Wigflip is sure to be top 10 of '08, ya heard. We have it, we've listened to it, we love love love it. Last week we gave you a teaser and one of the tracks from the record.
