I can hardly believe this but my friend Steven Paterson, a young Scottish singer/songwriter living near London, contacted me for permission to cover one of my songs and I instructed him on the music and the result is that his cover is now #1 most discussed music video on YouTube in the UK! and #6 top rated (was #4 earlier). Unbelievable! Steven did a great cover and he is really getting my song noticed over there!! These honors are fleeting so I'm glad Steven e-mailed me w... MORE
Talk about a bang for your buck! The country may be in a recession, but this show makes it all seem like a bad dream. Neil Young has lassoed two of the alternative world's finest bands to open for the North American leg of his fall tour. While Wilco works on their new album, due this spring, Death Cab for Cutie opens the tour October 14 while Wilco jumps on November 29. In the meantime, Young is wrapping things up over seas before heading over to Boston to perform with Wi... MORE
(The Girlfriend, Richie and myself cross a deserted football field to get to the edge of Malahide Castle. When we reach the main trek...)
Security Guard: (points twenty feet away) You have to go back there and get searched.
Richie: Can you not search us?
Security Guard: No. Not my job.
(We walk over to the search guys.)
Me: I was told to come back here and get searched.
Search Guy: (Shakes head) Only people with bags.
(I walk back to the Security Guard.)
Me: They’re only searching... MORE

My cover of the solo acoustic version. I grew up listening to the Crosby Stills Nash & Young album 4 Way Street and always loved Neil Young's slo acoustic rendition on that album:
Courtesy of www.thrasherswheat.org An interview with Young in Spin Magazine (June 1988), Neil was asked about the lyrics to the song "Pocahontas" that go "Wish I was a trapper, I would give a 1000 pelts to sleep with Pocahontas and find out how she felt"
-
YOUNG: "I think I would have. I would have given all the pelts I had. Then I'd go out and trap more."
What an increduible video this is. Here is Neil Young unveiling many new songs in front of a live studio audience. Superb!!
Human Highway was recorded during the Stills-Young sessions in 1976. The song was always meant to be a CSNY track, but Neil had run out of patience by the Comes A Time LP, and so there it ended up.
On the roller coaster ride
That my emotions have to take me on
I heard a newborn baby cry
Through the night.
I heard a perfect echo die
Into an anonymous wall of digital sound
Somewhere deep inside
Of my soul.
A natural beauty should be preserved like a monument to nature
Dont judge yourself too harsh, my love
Or someday you might find your soul endangered
A natural beauty should be preserved like a monument to nature.

Brand new song called When Will Love Come Back?
I uploaded the video to YouTube and a comment there compared the song to David Crosby.
Other musicians elsewhere compared it to Neil Young & Johnny Cash.
I think all those comparisons are a big stretch of course but I am honored that someone would think that highly of one of my simple songs.
Another friend called my song "dark and moody, desperate and lonesome with a glimmer of hope" and I think he nailed it. It's about ... MORE

Because it needs to be heard, because its Saturday night, because it is classic Neil Young stretching out old "Blackie" Well, and because I like it
I don't have an artist profile here yet so I put this under Neil Young since his music influences my own. This video uses the final mix for the CD for the audio. This is one of my very earliest complete songs written when i was 17 years old. The song is really about an older me reflecting back on all the great songs and times of my youth. And now here I am playing the song as that older man. I guess I sort of paid it forward with this one. The audio is from this live video... MORE
