I was exceptionally pleased by Ratatat's show last night Slim's. They played tracks off their album Classics, and I was impressed by their live performance. While the guitarist creates Ratatat's signature sound, the sounds generated by the keyboardist/percussionist and the bass player came to the front of the music. They were energetic and didn't waste time trying to be cute. (Towards the end, people were calling out requests. One bandmember came to the mic and admitt... MORE

1 year ago today:Amsterdam, Van Gogh, Ratatat, & Mike Stroud's dancing uncle... A bit crazy - Ratatat put on a mesmerizing show at the intimate "small room" of the Paradiso. With Ratatat's progressively building cloud of sound, the concert seemed to come to an abrupt end - a startling jolt back to reality - leaving everyone dazed, waiting & wanting more. Eventually as seconds felt like hours, the lights went up and the post-set began. Mike & Evan (I'm not sure what ha... MORE
The last show I went to was Ratatat with my boyfriend and two of our friends. It was at the Wonder Ballroom in Portland. It was amazing. They put on a really great show. I bought my bf his ticket for his birthday and he said it was the best present he had gotten in a long time.
My older brother sent me this one, it's pretty awesome.

Any recommendations for other good electronica/techno songs?
Thanks.
I love you all.
I had a 4.5 hour car trip home to Chicago back from Michigan this weekend (Happy Mother's Day mom!). This remix made it a bit more bearable.... great driving song that reminded me of my younger days.
Recently I can't stop listening to this song. While walking to work this morning I found myself bobbing my head to it, much to the amusement of the guy standing next to me on the corner. What can I say? This song kicks ass.
secondly, how much does this Ratatat remix of Kanye's "Diamonds" go dumb?!...Not only do I love Ratatat, but i love Kanye (he's my weakness)! A... MORE
This song - Lex by Ratatat (a electronica-ish band/duo) was shown to me by a good friend, Eva. It is AWESOME. It has no lyrics but for some reason.. always attracts me, I listen to it a lot. Then there's another one on the same album released last year called Wildcat. I LOVE them, so if you're looking for some good electronica - RATATAT ALL THE WAY!!!
Some other good Ratatat songs are Spanish Armada and Germany to Germany. :D
Ok, so I'm tagging with the same basic thing as my last post, but man, I can't help it! And now, my personal faves of 2006! Artist (Longest Lasting thru the year): RatatatOk, ok, obsessive....yes. But still. It speaks to me or something.Nah, to me it's more about the musicianship. The more I listen, the more I find to love. The influences that I can find in their music (probably 1/2 of them are imagined) are vast, and range from AC/DC to Beethoven. Especially the last... MORE
Holy fucking shit! This show was AWESOME. My second time seeing Ratatat live, and they never cease to amaze me. I think that their Berbatis' show was a little stronger, plus the fact that ANY band feels better in a smaller venue. The only downside is that during the entirety of the set there were 2 short lesbians making out on my back....literally. They were using me like a drunk couple uses an alleyway wall. Kept Grabbing my ass too....whatever. I still danced. The show... MORE
