When I was a little kid - barely nine - my parents sent me off to boarding school in England. It was every bit as bad as I'd imagined, and I wouldn't trade the experience for the world.

This is from what may have been the first album I ever bought. Seeing them perform Ladytron back in the early seventies was probably a defining moment for me. But more than 30 years on, this fragment from If There is Something still blows me away.

ONce upon a time, a million years ago, (ok maybe 10,) I stumbled across this VHS performance of Roxy Music on a German television show called MusikLaden. I squealed with glee and took it home and auditorially masturbated several times in a row. but somehow, someday in the midst of a romantic meltdown with an ex, the video got put in his stuff and carted away.

I bought my first Roxy Music album while I was still in high school. It's not such a big thing for some but I did grow up in West Texas. The internet wasn't something widespread enough for most of us to have access to and it was still a very isolated place in 1996.
