Recently I finished one of the most bizarre books by one of the most bizarre authors I've ever read. Rant by Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club, etc) takes out a mixing bowl and tosses in chunks of 1984, bits of "The Matrix," a smidgeon of "Back to the Future," and a dash of "28 Days Later," to finally provide truly inspired bits of real insanity, so much so that there are probably about 5302 different conclusions the reader can come to after the last page has been turned. Anyone whose a fan of The Hold Steady or Band of Horses should be sure to check out Ted Leo & The Pharmacists. They take the Indie Rock sound and inject it with a every other genre under the sun. forced to dive deeper into my Ted Leo collection. This is my favorite song of his I believe....at least for today.
I got on the road towards San Francisco a little after 10am on Saturday. After heavy rain and heavy traffic due to an accident, and a stop at North Berkeley Wine to stock up on some of the cheaper Rhône reds that they import, the sun comes out and I find free parking for the whole day a couple of blocks away from Slim's. The new Ted Leo disc 'Living With The Living' maybe my favorite of his to date. This song is MOST DEFINITELY my favorite song of 2007...so far.
I am a huge Ted Leo fan. I love Shake the Sheets more than almost every other album in my music collection. Hearts of Oak and Tyranny of Distance get me excited beyond belief. I recently received all of Ted Leo's earlier work both with the Pharmacists and with Chisel and love almost every song on every single album. I even enjoy the shitty recordings on the One AM Radio/Ted Leo split that actually turned some people off from Ted. I have seen him twice, and will be seeing h... MORE
Last night, I got Ted Leo & The Pharmacists new album "Living with the Living" and of course I love it. Everyone should go out and get it soon if you like Ted Leo & The Pharmacists. The first pressing of the CD comes with a bonus EP "Mo' Living".
