Now that Johnny Marr has scuttled hopes for a Smiths reunion, the NME has promptly switched gears and is focusing on The Stone Roses. An article on NME.com quotes Roses bassist Mani as saying 2009 is the perfect time for...

The Stone Roses were arguable the seminal Britpop band during the "Madchester" music scene in jolly old Manchester, England. Their songs were inspired by the house music movement at the time and the good ol' rock and/or roll. Their debut album, The Stone Roses , will turn 20 years old next year, and it's one of my absolute favorite albums of all-time. All-time--probably number one.

How many of you have seen this movie? It's quirky and odd. I really enjoyed the soundtrack, especially the Stone Roses song at the end of the movie. The movie was written and directed by Taika Waititi, a New Zealand born director.
While looking for the video to this song I found a YouTubers page filled with these 6min clips of something called ITV Chart Shows from 1989-1994, obviously British, these clips seem to give you a weekly update of the Top 10 Indie videos and Rock videos from back in the day. A pretty good research tool if your needing to look back on bands from that time. I found it informative and thought one of you may as well. Check it out here: ITV Chart Shows
This song seems mysteriously unpopular in America, judging by a friend I recommended it to's attempts to download it P2P.
Fuck you, America, it's a good song. A sizable chunk of Post-Punk was shit, so can we at least keep the nice bits around?
OK, then.
Note the bass there at the beginning. Or the entire song, really. It is happy and nice and I like it despite being a horrible, horrible person. You should to.
from 1up: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock made its Euro debut today at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, and during the hour-long demonstration, Activision showed off "She Bangs the Drums," as made famous by The Stone Roses. "She Bangs the Drums" was the second UK single from the group's 1989 eponymous debut, which is considered by many to be among the most significant and influential records in British rock history. "The Edinburgh Interactive Festival is all about ... MORE
