It would feel wrong – cruel even - to toss any negativity in the direction of the affable new-wave group the B-52’s. They’ve always been such founts of positivity – drolly witty ambassadors of good cheer, and purveyors of empowering, willfully inclusive garage-pop songs that are carried along by wacky cartoonish lyrics and jubilant dance beats.

A week from Today (March 25) the B-52's will release Funplex(Astralwerks) their first album of new material since 1992's Good Stuff(Reprise), BUT today you can listen to the entire album streaming via AOL Music.

The band took a long time to shop the album around to different labels in order to secure favorable intellectual property rights to the music, something previous record contracts did not afford them.

Lately I have been exploring my love of comic books. My son Alex and I have been reading 'The Marvel Universe Handbook' together.

ATLANTA - Fifteen years after their last album of new material, The B-52s are wrapping up work on their next one.
The quirky dance-pop outfit, which burst onto the new wave scene in 1979 with songs like “Rock Lobster” and cracked the pop charts in the late ’80s with the party classics “Love Shack” and “Roam,” returned to their hometown of Athens, Ga. to finish recording the as-yet unnamed record.

Does Parker Posey even REALIZE how much she owes Cindy Wilson???? Cindy is just so groovy and cute as a button in the video for "Song For A Future Generation" from the 1983 B-52's album "Whammy!" - in fact the whole band seems like they've either having a very good time, or they've been dosed with windowpane and set loose on a 1960's variety TV show set. Not much to say other than forget "Love Shack" and give "Song For A Future Generation" a listen - an essential 80's track!... MORE
