The Thermals, formed in 2002 (see also 2002 in music), are a punk rock band from Portland, Oregon on the label Sub Pop Records. The group is currently made up of Hutch Harris (vocals and guitar), Kathy Foster (bass), and Lorin Coleman (drums). Original guitarist Ben Barnett (of Kind of Like Spitting fame) left shortly after More Parts per Million was released in 2003, reverting guitar duties back to Hutch.     The first time in a while someone asked me to listen to a band and i just ended up sitting down to download everything i could get my hands. First thing i got sent was "No Culture Icons" off of "More Parts Per Million", which is a good entry point. It's super-low-fi production, incredibly clever lyrics, and catchy hooks. It say its a good starting poitn because, of the three albums they've got out, there's a change between each. "Fuckin' A" is the middle ground. Mor... MORE
