Break-ups suck, everyone knows that. You run over what went wrong in your head a billion times over. You destroy their favorite t-shirt. You wait by the phone for hours, waiting for them to call. What happens though when it's your favorite band that does you in? Like an actual break-up, you run over in your head why that last album blew so much a billion times over. You take down all of their posters. You even sit by their old albums longingly wondering if it'll ever be th... MORE
Crunchy guitars, rap lyrics, and hymns are just are a few of things that make this album great, but more than anything we’re just happy to have Weezer back. Weezer’s Red Album is a breathe of fresh air for the band that’s basically been missing for the past few years. Honest, silly, and generally very fun, the Red Album brings back the Weezer we’ve always loved.

While I am pretty sure the title describes any song, I would particularly like to invite you to listen to this song at a high volume. Rivers describes falling in love with music through his favorite songs, and how jazzed he is that his songs might be that to his fans. I have to say: This is the song.
I just joined Mog after being a Last.fm user for almost 2 years now. I'm not sure if it's worth having both, or that MOG has any significant features that last.fm lacks. Well, prove me wrong Mog!
I can't say that all the albums after Pinkerton is completely useless- all of them seem to exist just to strengthen the blue album (not that it needs any). Don't get me wrong, there are a few gem nuggets tucked in here and there. and I do continue to support weezer and its creativity (from Buddy Holly's video to their newest Pork & Beans). I can say that I will continue to listen to their future albums very hopefully, but with tired faith.
Back in March Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo took to the Internet in hopes of recording a new tune. Cuomo's plan: create a song generated by fan input via YouTube video responses. Starting the project off Cuomo's shed some knowledge like there are "99 ways to write a song," (and the bitch ain't one?) and that he wanted the tune to be "fun, poppy and tough at the same time."

Just beautiful. Rivers and the gang stepped up and made me forget that Make Believe was even released. As my good buddies officeglenn and Lamicus pointed out, Weezer released a Queen album. This song would fit in perfectly on A Night At The Opera, oh how Freddie would be proud. Glenn mentioned that he can't see college kids singing along to this like Bohemian Rhapsody. I have to respectfully disagree with that one. I can totally see kids of the male persuasion adopting t... MORE
Weezer Weezer (The Red Album) 5 out of 10 If rock ānā roll were high school, Weezer would have probably been that kid in fourth period who gets all the answers right, but gets stuffed into a locker as soon as the bell rings. Not this time, though. This year they're back, and they're running for prom king. With song titles like "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" and lyrics that tout "I'm gonna be a star/ And people will crane necks/ To get a glimpse of me/ And see if ... MORE
The Red Album is out. I haven't bought it yet (disadvantages of unemployment include no money to purchase the album and no computer of my own to download it onto), but I've been listening to all the tracks I can find on the Hype Machine, which, so far, is most of the album. This is a review in the good, the bad, and the ugly mode. It is also quite ramble-y, full of vague implications, and generally lacks coherence. The Good: Rivers hasn't lost his touch with regards to... MORE
So, Rivers Cuomo has grown a mustache, and all of a sudden, he thinks he's Freddie Mercury. I picked up the deluxe edition of Weezer's latest album (the "Red Album," if you will), and it seems that Rivers' mustache is not the only way the guys from Weezer are channeling the legendary '80s arena rockers. First, as pointed out by the venerable Lamicus, each of the band members takes a turn on the vocals, like Queen used to do in their heyday. One of the standouts of the... MORE
