The entire performance was Web cast via Radiohead's Web site last night. Naturally, I found out about this this morning. Luckily, for me (and you), links to each... MORE
Back in February, the Grateful Dead's Bob Weir, Mickey Hart, Phil Lesh and Lesh's current band of Friends - Jackie Greene, John Molo and Steve Molitz - got together for a one-off gig at San Fran's Warfield in support of presidential candidate Barack Obama. According to the FoxNews (the irony!), the three living Dead members, including drummer Bill Kreutzmann and along with Allman Brothers/Gov't Mule guitarist Warren Haynes taking over for the late Jerry Garcia, will ... As countless other reviews will tell you, if you've listened to rap in recent years you've heard Skillz before. The Virginia rapper came up as a ghostwriter. Although ghostwriting is a commonplace practice in R&B and pop music, in certain ways it's the antithesis of rap -- a very hush-hush subject among hip hop heads. Skillz jumped off in 2000 upon gaining attention for his song "Ghostwriter," the tell-all song about famous rappers he's written for (had the rappers' names ... MORE
As promised, here is the brand new video for "Tic Toc" from Busy Signal:
The video was directed by Ras Kassa and the single is off the upcoming Busy Signal album, LOADED (due in September). I have arrangements to interview Busy soon (hopefully next week), so if you have questions, leave them in the comments here.
For more info, see my previous post on this song and the album.
Busy Signal is also the cover star of this month's FADER Magazine!
The things you learn on long drives, listening to local radio stations. For instance A member of this band: Is the father of a member of this band: and this is a GREAT name for a band( i'm still on the fence about the song - its growing on me though) Another great name for a band(i'm disappointed I didn't think of it) and they opened for Nine Inch Nails last night in NYC: and that people still can't get eno... The most painful parts of watching the olympics last week was putting up with MSNBC coverage during the daytime hours when NBC was showing soaps or local news. Really horrible live TV. The interactions between Tiki Barber and his co-host Tara somebody were mind numbingly stupid and catty. However, I didn't realize until just now surfing around, the extent to which the on-air ill will went - watch the video - it starts with a brief clip from earlier followed by some disc... MORE
With anyone but himself... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh His name is Justin Currie & I am just chipping away at the tip of the iceberg with him... I saw him on Live at Abbey Road tonight with Ben Harper (another lover of mine)... but this Justin Currie - is quite simply GENIUS... He's from the band Del Amitri & for me - it's his solo songs that have got me all a flutter - nothing against DA... but his solo album is to KILL MAME & DIE FOR !!!

Thursday night at the Blue Note in New York City, I had the pleasure of seeing Amel Larrieux for the 5th time in my life. This performance pierced me straight in my gut and soul. A little something something was much different from her previous shows. Amel's energy level was at an all time. Part of the reason may have been that her fans from www.blisslife.com were out in FULL force. I am humbled to say I was a part of this posse which was acknowledged by her in her perform... MORE
I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and I got a little surprise today as I logged onto MOG after a long day of school. The posts that I thought were lost found their way back to my page so I want to start off by saying thank you to the fine folks of MOG. That being said, it is the weekend and for teachers this means the last weekend of summer freedom. I finished up getting my room ready today, and had my open house last night. In all 17 kids showed up to see t... MORE

First song from their first night of two. From a surprisingly great gig for such a small venue. An amazing atmosphere, with a great crowd!
Seriously one of the greatest, or most fun at least, PR moves from a label ever. Have you read The Intergalactic Enquirer yet? How about The Son? The Neu York Thymes? Modular is making headlines everywhere. Check out the up to date news from tomorrow's yesterday including the revelation that The Presets aren't gay, the shocking story that Cut Copy are quitting the music biz to grow coffee in Ethiopia and find out why a woman married a shark plus much, much, much, more. Al... MORE
I bought a CD on Wednesday. An actual CD! One of those things with the annoying plastic on the outside and sticky tape around the top that leaves gunk on it that pisses me off. I think it's been a very very long time since I've paid for a ridiculously overpriced new cd. It was kind of fun. Usually I just buy everything digitally from a number of sources or I'll order used cd's (I'm not picky!). I went to the local Barnes & Noble with my wife because she needed to ... MORE

How to excite a Radiohead fan? One word: webcast. Around 3:05 PM EST, gorillavsbear.net wrote that Colin had posted a special announcement on Dead Air Space , Radiohead’s official website. Radiohead would be webcasting their show at Santa Barbara Bowl, the last of their current American tour. According to the website, Colin wrote, "It should be a special night, for lots of reasons, and we're going to try and share as much of it as we can... MORE
