but I won't. I mean it's TOM WAITS! And it's his first ever show in Columbus, and most definitely his last. But look at some of these Craigslist postings...I am so poor and I could use the money...but I could use 2 hours of live Tom Waits more!

Looking for: 2 Tom Waits Tickets - $400 (Tickets)

Me and my beautiful wife are Waits fans from the way back. But the last time we saw him live was in 1979 at the Milwaukee performing arts center. And after all these years, we think of that night as truely the raw Waits as he always been remembered. We'd would like to be have one wild evening with our man "Tom" at the helm. Alas: being old and slower at the draw than we should ever be in this high tech nano second world. I have let my woman down. So, if you have tickets and for some unforseen reason can't go. We, would proudly represent. Thanks

1 Tom Waits balcony seat - $300 (new london, ct)

I have one Tom Waits ticket for trade/sell. I live in CT and would love to trade my extra in exchange for airline ticket to see the show. Otherwise, I'll be riding in on the Greyhound.

Wow!  That's quite a trek.  Saw Waits two years ago in Akron, OH and I lived in NJ at the time.

I would be tempted as well.  But I've seen him twice.  Would you even be able to sell them with Ticket Bastards new policy where you have to show your ID and credit card you paid with?  I heard Waits was one of the first concerts they were instituting this on.

No, that new paperless ticket thing is definitely in effect for this show...sounds like its going to be such a hassle...but I appreciate the effort to keep the tickets away from the scalpers...yet another reason NOT to sell

Not near as much as when I saw him in August 05 in ATL (south+august=HOT!).  They only let you will call the Tix, so it made the concert an hour and a half late (line went around the block).  It was real fun sweating your ass off in line to get into a concert you paid a fortune to see, let me tell ya.  Tom Waits is my #1, but shit, if I gotta stand around for an hour and a half after spending $160 on tickets, give me a freakin seat.

I saw him in Italy in 1999, and it was fantastic.  They know how to put on a concert there.  It was in an opera house, not too big, everyone had a seat, great sound.  Here, they just pack the cattle in.  I don't need to dance (except maybe with a beer or some whiskey) to Tom Waits.  Seat please!

Yeah, this venue only holds like 2200 people, but still...they are used to doing plays and symphonies...I am planning on getting there like 2hrs early...I am expecting a TOTAL trainwreck!

I just hope there's a bar in the venue, maybe a pool table, if you get in before anyone else.  I admire the attempts to keep ticket prices down by keeping the tickets out of hands of scalpers, but once again, it's the fans who must suffer.

I know there has gotta be a simple way to do it, but instead we gotta make what should be a fun experience - a hassle.

No bar, no pool table...no relief in sight!

All that aside, the concert will be great.  Because Tom Waits isn't just a great musician, he remembers that it's about being an entertainer as well.  Plus, his son plays drums for him - how fuckin cool is that?  Hopefuly Marc Ribot will be tourig with him as well, but I doubt it.  His back up band is top notch.
