Maybe Meth should leave the stage diving for the experienced Rock crowds, these kids clearly weren't in the mood to be jumped on. To add insult to injury, the crowd members decide pick him up for crowd surfing after he hits the floor.
I got certain vibes of "Can You Feel It" by the Jackson 5 while watching this video. I've heard other people say he bit Ne-Yo's "Closer" video also... maybe Thicke took little elements from popular clips to create his own. In any event, I still love this song.
New single from The Whip, set for release on 14th July 2008. . Manchester's The Whip are back with the third single from their electric debut 'X Marks Destination'. 'Blackout' is heavily inspired by original acid house mixed with the electro-rock swagger that once made Kasabian essential listening before their creativity was stifled by hanging around with Oasis for prolonged periods. The track eventually builds to a climax that will have floppy-fringed indie... MORE
While it may not be a totally new concept, Feist appeared on none other than the Sesame Street recently. As usual, she changed up the lyrics to fit the show and the result was nothing short of great. Sometimes it pays to have a 2 year old who likes to watch cookie monster.
I'm still here, and I have even bought a few new records, possibly of greatest interest to the AARP demographic, and I will report on them soon. But first, a tribute. "Wistful singer," she's called in the headline of Stephen Holden's just-posted New York Times obit. That would be Jo Stafford, who was 90, and Holden's summary is impeccable: "A favorite of American servicemen, Ms. Stafford earned the nickname G. I. Jo for records in which her pure, nearly vibrato-less ... MORE
My cover of Happiness Is A Warm Gun from the White album. I did multiple layers of overdubs to get the additional vocals and harmonies to work.
NOTE: Ignore the note at the beginning. You should be able to hear the proper stereo version right hear on MOG!
I absolutely love Freemasons. They make top quality house music, if not the best in the industry. When they started becoming Beyonce's regular remixers I was amazed by what they did with her songs. Now they have remixed her sister Solange, but what? Not a house beat in sight. Instead they give us a psychedelic Motown monster for 2008. I enjoyed her debut, especially "Ain't No Way". She has definitely grown up and hopefully this single will be followed up with a top notch a... MORE
Debut single from thecocknbullkid; It's like...errr.....oh just play it! She is getting hyped in London; a young female singer-songwriter and producer who's sound has been compared to the love-child of Morissey and Neneh Cherry.....errr? www.myspace.com/thecocknbullkid . Filling in the gaps Number 195 . . "Probably the most interesting thing to have come out of London since Klaxons." NME

My buddy who works at Letterman warned me about the Hold Steady's sketch on the late show a few days back. Yesterday when all the blogs made the rounds reporting on the Andy Kindler funny spot I scoured YouTube but to no avail. Only the actual performance was up. Sometime last evening the YouTube gods delivered. Here is the Hold Steady at their finest (I'm liking the new single "Sequestered in Memphis".) And I don't even know what "sequestered" means.... MORE
Today (well, for the last 15 minutes) I have not been able to stop listening to this song. I mean, it is pretty much the best thing I have heard in a long while In other news - the Proms start today, though the second half of the season looks infinitely better than the first, I do plan on snacking and sitting on the floor up in the Gods at the Royal Albert Hall every free evening I have for the next two months. Can anyone tell me why they have a di... MORE
